Question 1

Where do your hunts take place?

Accepted Answer

Our hunts take place in remote areas of Interior Alaska, away from road-accessible hunting areas. Exact locations and logistics vary depending on the hunt, species, season, and conditions.

Question 2

How do we get to the hunting area?

Accepted Answer

Transportation into and out of the field is typically by bush plane. We coordinate field transportation as part of the trip-planning process. Weather can affect flight schedules, so hunters should plan some flexibility before and especially after their hunt.

Question 3

What weather should I expect?

Accepted Answer

Interior Alaska weather is unpredictable, mercurial and can change quickly. Depending on the season, hunters may experience warm or mild days, freezing temperatures, rain, wind, and even snow during the same trip. Wet and windy conditions can make moderate temperatures feel much colder.Hunters should come prepared for a wide range of conditions with appropriate layers, waterproof outerwear, quality boots, and cold-weather gear. Weather can also delay bush-plane travel, so we strongly recommend allowing flexibility in your travel schedule.

Question 4

What is included in the hunt price?

Accepted Answer

Your hunt includes professional guiding services, field meals, pre-trip planning and consultation, transportation to and from the hunting area, and assistance with field dressing, meat care, trophy care and transporting harvested game from the field.

Question 5

Are additional meat-hauling flights included?

Accepted Answer

The hunt price includes the planned transportation associated with your hunt. A successful harvest—particularly of a large animal such as a moose—may require additional aircraft trips to safely and legally remove meat, cape, antlers, and other required parts from the field.Any additional flights required specifically for hauling harvested game are the hunter's responsibility and will be charged at the actual cost of the additional flight(s).

Question 6

What is not included?

Accepted Answer

Travel to and from Alaska, lodging outside of the hunt, hunting licenses and tags, meat processing and shipping, taxidermy, gratuities, personal gear, and other personal expenses are not included unless specifically stated in your Hunt Agreement.

Question 7

What happens to the meat after a successful hunt?

Accepted Answer

Responsible meat care is a priority throughout the hunt, and Alaska has specific salvage and transportation requirements for harvested game. Before your trip, we'll discuss your plans for the meat, including local processing, transporting it home, or arranging an appropriate donation.Processing, shipping, and additional transportation costs are the hunter's responsibility.

Question 8

How physically demanding are the hunts?

Accepted Answer

These are remote wilderness hunts. Hunters should be prepared for uneven terrain, variable weather, hiking, carrying gear, and living in a remote camp. A fit hunter generally has more opportunities than an unfit hunter!
We'll talk with you before booking about your hunting experience, fitness level, and any physical limitations so we can determine whether the hunt is an appropriate fit.

Question 9

What happens if weather delays our flight?

Accepted Answer

Weather is part of hunting in remote Alaska and can delay flights into or out of the field. Hunters should build flexibility into their travel plans and avoid scheduling tight connections immediately following their anticipated return from the field.

Question 10

What licenses, tags, and permits do I need?

Accepted Answer

Hunters are responsible for obtaining all required Alaska hunting licenses, locking tags, harvest tickets, and permits. Requirements vary by species, hunt, and residency status. We'll help you identify what you'll need for your hunt, but each hunter is ultimately responsible for knowing and following the regulations that apply to their hunt. Alaska Department of Fish & Game likewise states that individual hunters are responsible for knowing the current regulations.

Question 11

Do I need travel or evacuation insurance?

Accepted Answer

We strongly recommend travel, medical, and emergency evacuation/rescue coverage appropriate for remote Alaska. Remote locations, bush-plane travel, weather delays, and limited access to medical services make appropriate coverage worth considering.

Question 12

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

After booking, you'll receive a hunt-specific gear and preparation list. Because weight and space are important considerations when traveling by bush plane, we recommend reviewing your gear with us before your trip.

Question 13

Can you guarantee a successful harvest?

Accepted Answer

No. These are fair-chase hunts in wild country. We provide experienced guiding, careful preparation, and the best opportunity we can, but wildlife, weather, and field conditions are never guaranteed.

Question 14

How do I reserve a hunt?

Accepted Answer

Contact us to talk about the hunt you're interested in, availability, expectations, and whether the hunt is a good fit. Once dates are agreed upon, a deposit and signed Hunt Agreement secure your booking. Full payment and cancellation terms are provided in the Hunt Agreement.
